Pierre Carion, français à San Diego (Californie) a trouvé une bonne parade aux tensions franco-israéliennes actuelles: il déterre des blagues plus que politiquement incorrectes d'un héros de mon adolescence Pierre Desproges. (PS à Pierre: mon père a eu la fabuleuse idée de m'emmener voir Desproges à la Bourse du travail de Lyon en février 88, quelques mois avant sa mort. Personne ne se doutait de rien: il avait une pêche incroyable.")
Pierre Carion, a French blogger from San Diego (California), has found a good antidote to the current French-Israeli tensions: he dug up extremely politically incorrect jokes from one of the heroes of my teenage years, French comic Pierre Desproges. (PS to the first Pierre: my dad had the wonderful idea of taking me to see Desproges at a show in Lyons in February 1988, just a few months before his death. Nobody had guessed that he was sick: he had tremendous energy.)

I really wish he were here in this post 911 world. You made me want to reread his books. What an formidable writer too. A French teacher made us study one of his books in class: "chroniques de la haine ordinaire" I think.

Never had a chance to see Pierre Desproges on stage : the show I was about to see was cancelled. It was a few months before his death.
When I re-read all his texts, I really wonder if he would dare to tell the same joke today.
I know for sure it was plain old "second degre", but not sure everyone will appreciate that...now.
