A Mexican-American 'Abe Lincoln'
Vu ce matin à Los Angeles à la grande manif des sans-papiers contre plusieurs réformes de l'immigration potentielles: cet Abraham Lincoln latino sur échasses. Il a beaucoup amusé les automobilistes avec pile: le drapeau américain, face: mexicain. Ma copine Cathy a téléphoné de East L.A., en pestant contre les bouchons provoqués par ces terribles gauchistes! Je me rends compte qu'avant de venir aux Etats-Unis, je n'avais jamais développé d'amitiés avec des personnes si formidables et différentes, politiquement ou autre. L'Amérique a un pouvoir singulier. Thank you America.
At the big rally of undocumented immigrants against some potential immigration reforms, this morning in Downtown L.A. This Latino Abraham Lincoln on stilts entertained motorists with his flag American on one side, Mexican on the other. My friend Cathy called from East L.A., annoyed by the resulting traffic mess caused by those terrible leftists, which makes me realize: before coming to America, I had never developed friendships with amazing people so different politically, among other things. America has this strange power. Thank you America.
