Academics present discussion, “What Can a Frenchman Tell Us About America?” as part of OTIS Speaks lecture series. Writers Guild of America Theater, 135 S. Doheny Dr, Beverly Hills, (866) 468-3399. Sat at 4.Sunday: Bernard-Henri Levy @ Book Soup
8818 West Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood
The writer presents and signs his book, "American Vertigo: Traveling America in the Footsteps of Tocqueville."
April 9: 5 p.m.
L'expo L.A.
+ Guillemette: BHL in NYC
+ A l'Heure Américaine: BHL réexporté en France.
Is Arielle Dombasle with him? I'm really far more interested in her than I am in him -- even with ther new nose. I much prefer the old nose. But whatever nose she's sporting she's a marvelous creature du cinema. far more interestinghtan Sharon Stone, whose sequel to Basic Instinct tied for last place with Larry the Cable Guy: health Inspector. Apparently American moviegoer's affections for Sharon Stone and Larry the Cable Guy are exactly the same, hence they should work together. Perhaps a remake of Same Time Next Year.
besides your fabuous self when I think of France in L.A. my thoughts invarable turn to Lambert Wilson and Julie Delpy. They're both here more than half the year. Not together, needless to say. Though a project for the two of them would be a good idea.
Maybe Leos Carax could direct. He's here a lot too.
Hey David, it's Arielle Dombasle on the pic: she's very good playing comedies too! Page Six recently "reported" that BHL is staying at Sharon Stone's L.A. mansion and that they're very cosy. It ought to be reliable information, right?
Do tell, Emmanuelle!
Great dish. Maybe B-H L is confecting a vehicle for La Stone and Larry the Cable Guy.
But she seemed so creepy in Pauline at the Beach. I think she's my anti-type.
You should check out her other Rohmer films, particularly Percival le Gallois and The Tree, the Mayor and the Mediatheque.
She also does an interesting turn in Werner Schroeter's Deux.
She's also pretty good and sexy in Rohmer's "Le beau mariage".
Just saw in today's News-Press, that B-HL is appearing tomorrow evening (Monday) in Campbell Hall at UCSB. Guess he's "on tour"
I seem to remember liking Le beau mariage but I may have simply been transfixed by the majesty of all those achingly tight pants. I'll have to watch it again with some sort of matte or something.
Didn't see any of those Rhomer movies with Arielle. Beautiful woman, even now with the duck lips. There's a collagen epidemic among French actresses: Dombasle, Deneuve, Beart... This is awful.
BHL will be on KPCC Air Talk this Monday morning, and you can podacast it if you must!
PREDICTION: A VIEW OF NEW YORK AT 11th SEPTEMBER 2015 http://www.alah.hu
