Google Earth zoome dans la rue / Google Earth zooms in at street level

Photo Hosted at Buzznet

A quand l'intégration à Second Life?

Even those of us rather insensitive to San Francisco's charm can find themselves spending hours gliding along the city on street level thanks to Google Map's new service offering a "street view" option since Tuesday: after the satellite maps, the panoramic views. Here is above for instance the world-famous offices of pioneer webmag Tabloid.net on Haight Street, ten years after its glory days with Ken Layne, Charlie and Tony. Of course, Google doesn't say when the pics were taken and too bad if a poor chap is immortalized coming out of a strip club (the zoom is very good, notes the Drudge Report.) Our libertarian friends at Reason will love it. When will this make it into Second Life?

Wow, that house is looking worse, even during the supposed Bay Area Real Estate Boom #19.

There are many bums on the porch steps. There used to only be one! (And often it was Charlie.)

The techno record store has changed hands. It all looks pretty grim. Civilization is over.
