In San Diego, French blogger Pierre Carion spots various "forbidden" signs on the beaches in his corner of California and has pictures. In Los Angeles, we once had this special billboard on Sunset Boulevard.

Yeah, I grew up in San Diego. Is it any surprise I blossomed into a black trenchcoated anarchist by the time I got into high school? Then again, as M. Carion has aptly demonstrated, it doesn't take much to be an anarchist in S.D...

I read that France may allow class-action lawsuits...perhaps becoming a society that where signs like this pervade?

PS Paris blogger Jason Stone is my pal, and loves your blog. Talked about you when I was in Paris. (He should have LA Times faux blogger Susan Spano's job. He does what she does -- only it's interesting, compelling, and fun.)
