Starsky et Moïse, talalalala... En signant allègrement la pétition pour une version cinéma de Starsky et Hutch l'année dernière, je n'avais pas imaginé qu'un jour... Wooaowww. Starsky, alias Paul Michael Glaser en personne! C'était à la fiesta-dégustation de vins en l'honneur du nouveau thriller, Director's Cut (série du détective Moses Wine= Moïse Vin en français...) de Roger L. Simon, à Brentwood. Starsky and Moses, talalalala (tune of French theme song of Starsky and Hutch): By eagerly signing the petition for a movie version of Starsky et Hutch a while back, I would have never imagined that one day... Wooaow! Starsky, alias Paul Michael Glaser in the flesh! It was at the wine tasting party in Brentwood for Roger L. Simon's new book: Director's Cut (starring P.I. hero Moses Wine= Moïse Vin in French, which sounds pretty weird but then, isn't Hercule Poirot a strange name?)

Comme d'habitude, Luke Ford s'est dépêché de rentrer chez lui pour publier un compte-rendu précis de la soirée et de ses obsessions sur son site, en 40 minutes chrono. Où l'on apprend qu'une journaliste est repartie avec le numéro de téléphone de Starsky et une promesse d'interview!

Bye Bye Superman, hello Jean-Luc: ce n'est pas tous les jours qu'un blogueur devient superhéros de vidéo clip, le titre ultra-dansant "Bye Bye Superman" par le duo franco-suédois Geyster (ils se sont rencontrés au Musicians Institute de Los Angeles.) La chanson est déjà remixée par le fameux DJ David Guetta. Dans le clip (cliquez ici pour regarder la video) Jean-Luc Raymond de mediaTIC est le petit superman qui saute de gratte-ciel en gratte-ciel à Los Angeles. On le reconnait à sa machoire! Coincidence: le mois dernier, j'avais surnommé Jean-Luc "Super-Blogueur", d'où ce petit montage Photoshop grossier à gauche. / Bye Bye Superman, hello Jean-Luc: it's not everyday that a blogger becomes a superhero of a hip music video, the dance title "Bye Bye Superman" by French-Swedish duet Geyster (they met at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles) - the song was already remixed by famous DJ David Guetta. In the video (click here to watch) Jean-Luc Raymond of the mediaTIC blog is the small superman jumping from building to building in Los Angeles. You can recognize his jawline! Coincidence: last month, I decided to nickname Jean-Luc "Super-Blogger", hence the crude little Photoshop montage above.

Concert à Canter's: quelques images du week-end et du premier concert assez magique de Mark Antonides dans le petit club annexe du célèbre déli de Los Angeles, Canter's. LAExaminer décrit Mark parfaitement: "fantastique et bizarre chanteur/compositeur dans la veine du Bowie des débuts, grand et anguleux, capable de vous faire pleurer avec des phrases de chansons comme "I'm Jesus Chrysler on a star." / Concert à Canter's: a few pictures of the week-end and of the first and quite magical concert of Mark Antonides in L.A., in the music club of famous deli Canter's. LAExaminer describes him perfectly: "Terrific and bizarre singer/songwriter in the early Bowie vein, tall and bony, capable of making you cry at lines like "I'm Jesus Chrysler on a star."

Les blogueurs protégés contre les procès en diffamation: l'avocat Stephen Newman nous a annoncé la bonne nouvelle lors de la dernière soirée du Press Club de Los Angeles: en gros, grâce à une histoire de tableaux volés, les blogueurs peuvent pousser un ouf de soulagement.

L'ancienne firme de Stephen défendait un Hollandais créateur du site Museum Security Network, qui traque les pièces d'art volé, notamment par les Nazis et dispersés dans la nature. Dans une newsletter par e-mail, un participant de MSN a accusé une riche Américaine de posséder des centaines de tableaux volés à des familles juives par les Nazis. Elle a répondu avec un procès envers le propriétaire de MSN, en Hollande. (Salon avait raconté l'affaire en 2001.) La victoire de ce Hollandais et de ses avocats américains est une excellente nouvelle, comme l'explique Xeni dans son article du jour pour Wired. Le Prof. Eugene Volokh a publié un commentaire sur son blog. / Bloggers Gain Libel Protection: attorney Stephen Newman told us the good news at the last LA Press club party: in short, thanks to an affair of stolen paintings, bloggers can express some relief.

Stephen's former law firm was defending a Dutch citizen, creator of Museum Security Network, a web site that tracks down stolen pieces of art, among them, objects seized by the Nazis and now scattered around the world. In an e-mail newsletter, a participant to MSN accused a rich American woman to be in posession of hundreds of paintings stolen from Jewish families by the Nazis. She responded with a diffamation lawsuit against the moderator of MSN, based in the Netherlands. (Salon told the whole story in details in 2001.) The victory of this Dutchman and his American lawyers is excellent news, as told by Xeni in an article today in Wired. Prof. Eugene Volokh has commented on his blog.
